Welcome to Kul Jazz
The Autonomous Region performs both classic standards and modern arrangements of jazz favorites. Led by vocalist Caroline Cabading, this tradition-rooted ensemble also presents original compositions that fuse jazz with kulintang, a pre-colonial music of the Philippines.

9th Annual Filipino American Jazz Festival
Autonomous is proud to present a set of traditional Kulintang, Kul Jazz and new arrangements of jazz standards at this year's Filipino-American Jazz Fest. This will be a heartfelt musical afternoon in Historic Downtown Vallejo as we not only perform at one of the great performance palaces, the Empress Theatre, but also honor musicians Danongan Kalanduyan (Caroline's & Conrad's kulintang mentor) and Lorenzo Calica (Raymond's grandfather). And last but not least we will be sharing the stage with some wonderful musicians from many different musical walks of life: Raffy Lata, On the One, and CRSB.

The Autonomous Region is happy to present the latest original arrangements and jazz stylings of renowned Philippine composer, arranger and pianist Maestro Dio "Boy" Palacio. Autonomous has been collaborating with Boy since March of this year and we're proud to present his first set of arrangements for us. Please join us!

This month our guest artists are Tahitian dance and music ensemble Tiare O Te Ao. This is a family-friendly event. All ages welcome.
Vallejo Pista sa Nayon
Come and experience the celebration of Philippine Independence Day as Autonomous takes the stage at Vallejo's Pista sa Nayon outdoor cultural festival.
The festivities kick-off with a great parade on Marin Street and Capitol Street in Vallejo, then continues with non-stop entertainment on two stages and ends at at the renowned Vallejo Waterfront. This annual event is one of Vallejo’s largest FREE outdoor festivals that draws crowds wanting to sample Philippine cuisine, soak up Filipino hospitality, and enjoy entertainment that crosses all ages, cultures and ethnicities. Come and experience the Philippine Culture first hand. Bring the whole family!
Club Mandalay @ the I-Hotel
In celebration of Asian American Heritage Month we're back at the I-Hotel's PopUp "Club Mandalay" with more music, food, art and conversation! As the I-Hotel’s house band, we will present our own arrangements of jazz classics, traditional Philippine kulintang music, and our Kul Jazz compositions. Also back to collaborate with us will be Manilatown's Resident Poet Tony Robles presenting both his own work and a special selection from his Uncle Al Robles’ poetry. Then finally, we will be opening up the stage for a Community Jam Session. As always, this will be a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome.
